Touch Brač: Stone Stories is a unique five-day experience designed for anyone who wants to connect with the island in a meaningful and creative way.
Over the course of five days, you’ll explore the fascinating history of the world-famous Brač stone, visit iconic locations across the island, meet local stonemasons and artists, and create your own handcrafted stone keepsake under the guidance of experienced masters.
No previous experience is required—only curiosity and a desire to experience Brač from a completely different perspective.
Day 1 – Welcome to the Island of Stone
Your journey begins with arrival on the island of Brač and check-in to your accommodation.
Take some time to relax, explore your surroundings, or simply enjoy your first moments on this beautiful Mediterranean island.
Welcome Dinner
In the evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner in an authentic local setting.
Meet your hosts, mentors, and fellow participants while enjoying traditional Dalmatian cuisine.
During the evening, we’ll introduce the programme and share the remarkable story of Brač—an island whose identity has been shaped by stone for more than two thousand years.
Day 2 – Discovering the Story of Brač Stone
After breakfast, we’ll set off on a full-day journey exploring one of the world’s most celebrated building stones.
Ložišća
Visit the picturesque village of Ložišća and admire its impressive bell tower, designed by renowned Croatian sculptor Ivan Rendić.
Discover the important role that Brač stone has played in architecture, art, and the cultural identity of the island.
Active Stone Quarry
Experience the origins of Brač stone with an exclusive visit to an active quarry near Dračevica or Donji Humac.
You’ll discover:
- how Brač stone is formed
- how stone blocks are extracted
- traditional and modern processing techniques
- why Brač limestone has been used in prestigious buildings around the world.
Jakšić Family Gallery & Workshop
Meet one of Brač’s most renowned stonemasonry families. Explore their gallery and workshop while learning about a craft and family tradition that has been passed down through generations.
Traditional Lunch
Enjoy a traditional lunch at Konoba Kopačina, famous for authentic Brač cuisine prepared from local ingredients.
Free Afternoon
The afternoon is yours to enjoy.
Choose from a variety of optional activities:

- scenic walk
or simply relax and soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere.
Day 3 – From Inspiration to Creation
Today is dedicated to exploring the island’s cultural and natural heritage.
Pučišća
Begin the day in Pučišća, home to Croatia’s only Stonemasonry School.
Tour the workshops where future generations of stonemasons learn this remarkable craft and visit local artisans creating beautiful sculptures and miniature works from Brač stone.
Creative Workshop in Dol
Continue to the charming village of Dol, where the creative part of your journey begins.
For the first time, you’ll take a hammer and chisel into your own hands. Under the guidance of experienced stonemasons, you’ll learn:
- the basic tools of the trade
- safe working techniques
- traditional stone carving methods
- the first steps in shaping natural stone.
Each participant begins creating a personal stone piece that will gradually take shape over the following two days.
Light refreshments and local finger food are served during the workshop.
Dinner
The day concludes with dinner in the authentic surroundings of Dol, accompanied by local wines and traditional Brač specialities.
Day 4 – The Final Touches
After breakfast, you’ll return to the workshop to complete your stone creation.
With the guidance of your mentors, each participant finishes their unique handcrafted souvenir—a lasting reminder of their time on Brač.
Vidova Gora
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Vidova Gora, the highest peak of all Croatian islands.
Here we’ll capture a professional group photograph with your finished stone creations while enjoying one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea.
Farewell Dinner
Our final evening takes us to the traditional shepherd’s village of Gažul.
Celebrate the end of your journey with authentic Brač cuisine, local hospitality, a certificate presentation, and a relaxed evening shared with new friends.
Day 5 – Until We Meet Again
After breakfast, it’s time to check out and say goodbye to Brač.
You will return home with:
- your own handcrafted Brač stone creation
- a certificate of participation
- unforgettable memories
- new friendships
